This morning the convention body woke up dancing to the sounds of Shaharit Live, morning services accompanied by a live band of USY musicians. Wrapping things up, the 2017 International Board was officially installed, before the time came for USYers to wish each other a fond farewell.
After a packed week of learning, celebration, and fun, the convention’s theme, Chazak, Chazak, v’Nitchazek; Be Strong, Be Strong, Let Us Be Strengthened, rings more true now than ever. The teens have discovered and exercised their personal and collective strengths through social action, leadership, and showing kindness to their peers. As they now look towards the future, they bring home the lessons learned here to strengthen their kehillot and secular communities. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring for these young Jewish leaders. Let us all be strengthened by their incredible achievements that we in the USY community will continue to foster with impactful programming and immersive, fun experiences through a Jewish lens.
Thank you to the scores of people who made USY’s 66th International Convention happen including convention co-chairs Noa Rose and Harrison Steier, as well as USY’s dedicated volunteers; USCJ and USY’s lay leaders and professionals; program presenters; and of course, the contributors whose support helped make this gathering possible. We look forward to sharing many more successes together in the future.
See you next year in Chicago, IL!
