Costs

  • All prices are in U.S. dollars.
  • There is a $300 early bird discount for wheels until August 23 and then $100 off until September 30.
  • All participants in Yuval Yisrael programs will be eligible for a RootOne Voucher (R1V) subsidy in the amount of $3,000, to ensure greater participation in our programs! We hope that these vouchers allow even more teens to have an amazing summer with USY. More information regarding R1Vs is forthcoming. *As in years past, USY is once again applying for funding from RootOne LLC., an organization aimed at helping teens travel to and experience Israel. RootOne may help offset costs for eligible trip participants only. USY is actively applying for our RootOne grant, and we encourage you to take part today! Learn more at RootOne.org and be in touch with us directly with any questions. (Note, Vouchers are subject to participant eligibility and are not guaranteed. USY’s prior RootOne funding is no guarantee of future funding.) *Not available for graduating seniors.
  • If your child will be participating in a USY on Wheels program as their first-ever immersive Jewish overnight summer experience, they may be eligible to receive up to a $1,000 One Happy Camper grant. Please refer to the program website for more information regarding eligibility requirements and grant availability.
  • North American trips include the charter bus from the city in which the trip begins, room and board, admission fees, and gratuities.
  • Israel and Europe trips include round-trip airfare from the United States, room and board, an approved medical plan, sightseeing tours with professional guides, admission fees, and gratuities.
  • Prices for all Israel and Europe trips are subject to change, dependent on whether airlines choose to place a fuel surcharge on tickets. Such charges may be passed along directly to registered participants.
  • Extra baggage on flights and personal expenses are not included in trip costs.

Discounts

Sibling Discount: If multiple siblings sign up for USY Summer trips, families will receive $150 off registration (discount applies to each sibling registered after the first).

Cancellation policy

USY Payment and Refund Policy
 

A.  Registration. At the time of registration, a $750 deposit is to reserve your spot. This deposit may be charged on a credit card account, and is partially refundable, in some events, through the advertised deadlines in sections D and E.
 
B. Payment Policy. USCJ relies on timely payment of all financial obligations and incurs significant program expenses based on our promise to pay.  Accordingly, except as may otherwise be agreed in writing by the Chief Financial Officer of USCJ (or his/her designee), all financial obligations are due and payable on the date specified below, without further exception.
 
Program Payment Schedule:
At the Time of Registration: $750 deposit due
January 21, 2025: $1,000 payment due
March 3, 2025: $1,000 payment due
April 14, 2025: Full balance due
 
C. Withdrawal by You. In the event, after registering, that you notify USCJ/USY in writing that you are withdrawing from the program, refunds of monies paid to USCJ/USY will be made as follows:
 
If the withdrawal is without good cause*, there shall be no refund.
If the withdrawal is for good cause* and written cancellation is received:

If cancellation is received in writing before January 21, 2025, there will be a full refund issued

 Between January 21, 2025 – March 2, 2025: $150 processing fee will be withheld from the deposit and the remaining balance of payments made will be refunded.

Between March 3, 2025 – April 13, 2025: $1,500 cancellation fee will be withheld from payments made, and the remaining balance will be refunded.

April 14, 2025 and beyond: No refund will be granted.

After April 15, 2025 all programs are non- transferable and non-refundable. Scholarships will be applied to the program if you go on the trip. If you cancel for any reason all scholarships are voided and you are required to pay any of the cancellation fees or full price of the trip.  All cancellations must be made in writing via email to [email protected]

*The decision as to whether there is good cause for a participant’s withdrawal, or not, shall be made by the USCJ/USY program director and shall be final, conclusive and binding, and not subject to review by any court or arbitrator.
 
After cancellation is confirmed, the USCJ finance department will communicate to you within 15 days the amount and calculation of any refund to which you are entitled. The calculation (other than arithmetic errors) shall be final, conclusive and binding, and not subject to review by any court or arbitrator. You shall have the option to convert any refund, in whole or in part, into a charitable donation to USCJ.  Any refund (or portion thereof) not converted into a charitable donation shall be paid within 14 days thereafter. Note: In no event shall any refund exceed the actual amount paid to USCJ/USY by you, exclusive of any scholarships, grants, or other third-party payments on your behalf.

USY does not provide trip cancellation, interruption or property insurance. We therefore strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. Please contact your local insurance company for recommended options or you can contact Teen Travel Insurance to purchase coverage.
 
D. Cancellation of any/or all of USCJ/USY Summer Programs  is subject to termination without liability upon the occurrence of any circumstance beyond the control of either party — pandemic, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, or curtailment of transportation facilities — to the extent that such circumstances make it illegal or impossible to provide such programming, facilities, or transportation. 

Cancellation by USCJ/USY – If USY chooses not to open (in USCJ/USY’s sole and absolute discretion), or any other circumstances beyond the control of USCJ/USY require us (in USCJ/USY’s sole and absolute discretion) to cancel the USY program between the date of registration and June 30, 2025, “Start Date” of the program year, refunds of monies paid to USCJ/USY will be made as follows:

 
If cancellation occurs before the scheduled Start Date, you will receive a full refund.
If cancellation occurs after the scheduled Start Date, you will receive a full refund of monies paid to USCJ/USY, less expenses incurred.

  1. Cancellation due to participant misconduct.  In the event of trip participant misconduct resulting in expulsion from the trip, all scholarships shall be voided and you shall remain liable for the full price of the trip without adjustment, regardless of the date of expulsion, as well as for any additional program/personnel and/or transportation costs incurred by USCJ/USY in arranging for the trip participant to return home.  The decision to expel a trip participant due to misconduct shall be made by the USCJ/USY program director and shall be final, conclusive and binding, and not subject to review by any court of arbitrator.

TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE

Acceptance to the program is conditioned upon the receipt of a full registration, including, a physical examination and vaccination records of the applicant within 12 months of the program start date that demonstrates his/her physical and mental fitness and ability to participate in all aspects of the program. The traveler must also have proper documentation to travel to the program. These programs are designed for teens that identify as Jewish and in the current grades posted on the website. Receipt of deposit and application forms does not guarantee acceptance of the program. USY reserves the right to deny acceptance at its sole discretion.

USY reserves the right to consolidate and/or cancel specific programs and/or program dates at its sole discretion. Confirmed program offerings and dates will be finalized by March 3, 2024. Notwithstanding the previous sentence, I understand and agree that USY reserves the right to consolidate and/or cancel specific programs and/or trip dates, at its sole discretion, without prior notice.

Once the program begins, there are no refunds for expulsion or early voluntary termination from the program. There will be no refunds given for any portion of the trip that is unused.

In the event your participation is terminated due to misconduct in violation of the program Rules or due to injury/illness caused by reckless behavior (as determined by us, which determination shall be final, conclusive and binding, and not subject to review by any court or arbitrator), there will be no refund, and the participant will be responsible for reimbursing any scholarship/discount they may have received (including but not limited to a RootOne voucher).

 

No allowances will be made for late arrivals or early departures.

Additional notes:

  • All Israel programs depart from JFK only.
  • Spaces are limited on all programs and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If a trip is sold out, you can sign up for another program and be placed on a waiting list for the program of interest.  If a spot opens, we will contact you.
