I was never in USY & had ever heard of it until I joined a shul who had an active youth group. What I witnessed was a safe, fun, growing place for my kids to be a part of, one that would offer new friends and experiences. What I was happy & proud as a parent to do was volunteer for anything the regional office needed! USY gave my daughters a solid foundation to stand on when our family world was falling apart.
I was lucky enough many years ago to start working at IC as a volunteer. It is without a doubt the most exhilarating & exhausting week, and one I look forward to every year. When I watch opening ceremonies I see our future and it’s an awesome feeling knowing our work will plant the seeds for these teens to become young adults that will continue to be part of our movement.
