Through our SA/TO program, USY’s acronym for Social Action/Tikun Olam (repairing the world), we empower teens to make a positive and lasting impact on the world.

Performing social action and tikun olam are integral parts of forming Jewish identity and honoring the commandments and traditions laid down in the Torah.
We provide opportunities to help teens better the world on the local, regional, and international level through:
  • Hands-on volunteering
  • Advocacy opportunities
  • Charitable giving
In the past, USYers have performed acts of tzedakah (charity) and helped communities across the globe in numerous ways, including:

Marching against gun violence at our 2012 International Convention in Boston, MA

Farming to feed the hungry in Israel on our summer trip, L’Takayn Olam

Volunteering at several charitable organizations in the Bay area at New Frontier’s annual Mini Mission Mitzvah

To oversee these efforts, your chapters, regions, and the international organization have SA/TO VPs.
