Between Hebrew school and bar/bat mitzvah lessons, it’s easy for your pre-teen to be connected to a kehilla (Jewish community(ies) inside and outside the walls of the synagogue) through their b’nai mitzvah years. But what happens next?

How do you keep your teens engaged in Jewish life and learning once Hebrew school is over?

Where can they find an extracurricular activity that helps them develop leadership and social skills?

The answer is Kadima, USY’s program for pre-teens.

Kadima (Forward in Hebrew) gives your child a safe space to explore and connect to their Jewish identity, while making new, meaningful friendships and having fun. Programming, offered on the local and regional level, includes:

  • Recreational activities such as bowling or craft nights
  • Jewish holiday celebrations
  • Community service projects
  • Weekend conventions filled with socializing, learning, prayer experiences, recreation and more
  • Week-long end-of-summer sleep away camp experiences

PLUS we offer summer travel for current 7th and 8th graders down the east and west coasts of North America with USY on Wheels.
