For more than 60 years USY has provided fun, impactful travel opportunities for Jewish teens. Governed by Conservative Jewish values, USY’s program allows participants to experience the joy of Jewish living and find kehilla (sacred community) among their peers.
USY offers teens a chance to travel across North America, Central America, Israel, and Europe, opening their eyes to new places and experiences and giving them a chance to discover natural wonders, famous landmarks, and new cultures all over the globe.
Traveling with USY is a transformative experience. Participants gain insight into global issues, take on new levels of independence, learn how to manage money, do laundry, go grocery shopping—and live with others.
USY Summer Experience brings together Jewish teens from across North America to collectively embark on new experiences. By living and traveling together, groups create a unique community with bonds that last a lifetime.
All USY summer programs offer social action and volunteer opportunities including gardening, helping the elderly, construction projects, and more.
On USY summer programs, teens don’t just learn about Judaism, they live it. From relaxing with friends on Shabbat to eating kosher, and creating fresh approaches to prayer, our participants are immersed in Jewish life as part of their everyday experience. They find new meaning in Jewish rituals and form close bonds through a sense of shared identity. For our participants, it’s the joy of Judaism that makes a lasting impact.
